The CISIIP is committed to fostering the understanding on issues of the social integration of immigrant parents in Canada, especially from racial and ethnic minority groups. It functions as a hub for interdisciplinary work spanning from the humanities, communication, social sciences, social work, political science and public policy. It engages experts in Montreal, in Canada and abroad.

CISIIP undertakes activities such as assisting in field research, commissioning research, convening expert panels and roundtables, and holding consultative meetings.
